

Drumming With Anthony
All students are taking part in a 6 week drumming workshop with Anthony McNamee throughout January and February. Drumming brings so much energy and fun to the day. The children enjoy exploring new rhythms, trying out different beats and making music together. They are working towards a final performance on 26 February.


BCP Sensory Garden
The BCP Sensory Garden was offically opened on 3 October 2025. Our Explorers classes had great fun at the opening. We are very lucky to have it suituated close to the school and we look forward to visiting the garden often and enjoying it throughout the seasons. All our classes have visited it over the past 2 months. It has been an adventure destination, an area that has provided inspiration for project ideas for our young engineers and just somewhere nice and peaceful to


Halloween Fun

Halloween Spooky Stroll
Everyone at Newport NS enjoyed the Halloween Spooky Stroll around the school yard and through the town. We were joined by members of the Parents Association and other parents and family members.


Newport Christmas Market
Newport Christmas Market will take place on Sunday 7 December 2025. Our school Gospel choir will be singing outside the "Grainne Uaile" from 4:30-5:30pm. Please come along and join in while they share some festive cheer.


Maths trail for Maths Week
Ms McGovern's Fifth Class took part in a maths trail in the school grounds. Working in small groups, the pupils were encouraged to look at their surroundings through maths eyes.

West Mayo Cross Country
Our 4 teams did themselves proud in Murrisk today. The sun shone and they kept on running! Congratulations to all, especially our 3 boys who medalled and our 5th and 6th class Boys' team who came third overall!
