Local Legends outing for 3rd Class

Our own local legends (ie 3rd Class) had a great day out last week with Ged Dowling of Terra Firma. The children visited built heritage sites along the coastline between Newport and Tiernaur. They discovered a Ringfort (Fairy Fort) and Souterrain, and heard stories of historical figures such as Gráinne Mhaol and Brendan the Navigator who lived in or visited the area and made their mark on the landscape.

The children then made beautiful THANK YOU cards for Ged to thank him for showing them all the wonders in our own neighbourhood.
