We are thinking of all the 2nd class children who were due to make their First Holy Communion today at this time.

Thanks to Clodagh McGovern and all the parents, we managed to get lovely photographs of all of them, making the most of their day.

Enjoy your day and we hope to see you all again soon!

Dear parents and children,

I hope that you are all keeping well and are happy at home. This has been a trying time for everyone. Despite being very confined you are doing very well.

To supplement the work children are doing at home as guided by their own teachers, check out RTE's Home School Hub.  The ‘virtual classroom’ airs on RTE2 from 11am to 12pm.  Later on in the day, RTE Home School Extra will air as a catch-up programme at 4.15pm.

Great to see the whole country pulling together to make sure our children don't miss out during this challenging time.

You can also watch online, where you will...

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Just a note to let you know that your child may ‘subtract’ or ‘take-away’ two-digit numbers using a different method than you might have learned in school yourself. This video might clarify how it has been taught to your child in class.

The children of 2nd class were given a homework plan for the period of the school closure, using an online resource called IXL.  The note home gives you your child's log-in details.

For children who were not in school today or collected early, we are sending the documents to you via email, so please check your inbox.

Thanks and stay safe

What a lovely day we all had at the Christmas Concert!

Thanks to everyone who helped in any way, including the Parent Association, all the staff, the pupils themselves, and of course the fantastic audience!

On Friday 6th December, the children from 2nd Class visited the Newport Shepherds in Derradda,  They saw an exhibition of sheep herding from Alan and Paul, and learned how sheepdogs help the farmers and how they are trained.  They also got to meet the friendly sheepdog puppies and hold them.

The children really enjoyed their visit and we would like to thank Alan and Paul for their warm welcome.
