What a lovely day we all had at the Christmas Concert!

Thanks to everyone who helped in any way, including the Parent Association, all the staff, the pupils themselves, and of course the fantastic audience!

Pupils from 5th and 6th class took part in a rugby blitz in Westport as part of the Rugby World Cup celebrations. Each school represented a participating country. We dressed in the Tongan colours. It was a very enjoyable day.

The finalists in the Mayo Dark Sky Festival logo art competition AND the children of 6th class got to meet Canadian astronaut Dr. Robert Thirsk yesterday before he left Newport to return to Canada

The overall art competition winner was CHLOE MOHAN from 6th Class, who wins a TELESCOPE kindly donated by Ktec Telescopes.

In the lead up to the MAYO DARK SKY FESTIVAL which takes place in Newport, Mulranny and Ballycroy from 1st to 3rd of November, children are invited to design a LOGO for the festival.

All entries must be on A3 landscape format 

All entries will be put on display in Hotel Newport during the festival

Our Green Schools reps from 5th and 6th class will be participating in the Climate Hope Forum in Wild Nephin Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre this Thursday 17th October.

The Forum is organised by An Taisce and its aim is to empower teachers and students to confidently encourage climate action in the local school community.

Team Hope Shoebox Appeal

This year Team Hope are supplying the empty shoeboxes for their annual appeal. If u would like a box and label, you or your child can collect them from Fiona's office anytime between now and mid-term break (or until stocks run out!).  

Completed boxes will be collected from school AFTER MID-TERM
