As we mentioned last month, Noeline Haylett will be shipping backpacks and school bags to Ghana after Christmas, so we are asking parents to donate old or spare school bags they may have so that we can donate to Noeline and her great work with school children in Africa.

PLEASE DROP YOUR BAGS IN TO THE SCHOOL ON
THURSDAY 12th DECEMBER
and leave them at the front of the school hall.

At the end of that day, we will deliver the bags...

Members of our Green School Committee attended a workshop on Climate Change in Ballycroy National Park recently.  They had lots of interesting ideas for initiatives to promote Sustainable Travel.

Huge Congratulations to FOUR of our pupils who are winners in the Honeybee Festival Art Competition.  The competition was open to ALL local schools so it is a great result for the school and for the pupils!

The winning entries will be on display at the festival in Scoil Phadraig tomorrow.

This year, for CLIMATE ACTION WEEK 14-20 OCTOBER (and for the rest of the year too please!) we are asking parents to TURN OFF THEIR CAR ENGINES on the school grounds.

Our Green Schools reps from 5th and 6th class will be participating in the Climate Hope Forum in Wild Nephin Ballycroy National Park Visitor Centre this Thursday 17th October.

The Forum is organised by An Taisce and its aim is to empower teachers and students to confidently encourage climate action in the local school community.

We are very grateful to Michael and all the gang at Sheridans Centra who are now providing recyclable paper packaging with our school lunches, replacing the old single use plastic packaging - we thank you and the planet thanks you!
