Mayo Dark Sky Festival FREE LAUNCH EVENT
As many of you know, Newport, Mulranny and Ballycroy host the MAYO DARK SKY FESTIVAL each year in the weekend following the October Bank Holiday weekend - ie, the last weekend of that mid term break. We have lots of talks, walks, stargazing, musical performances, workshops and exhibitions in all three towns/villages - and CHILDREN GO FREE TO ALL EVENTS!
To launch our Programme for the 2024 Festival (1-3 November) we have invited Joanna Donnelly, meteorologist with Met Éireann and RTE, to give a talk about 'Weather Forecasting in the Climate of Ireland' and it will take place on SATURDAY 17 AUGUST at 12 NOON in the W Cinema Westport.
The launch event is part of Heritage Week and is FREE, but it is already proving very popular so we ask that everyone book their seat(s) in advance to avoid disappointment!
