Thank you Brian

We said farewell to our much loved sports coach today, after 12 years of coaching here at the school.

Deputy Principal said it best in her speech...

"The whole school community was in shock as the word spread of your departure Brian. We are deeply grateful for your dedication and commitment over the years. The children (and teachers alike) always looked forward to your weekly visits.

You were firm but fair, which allowed ALL children to participate. You have taught them very valuable life skills for the future. You have also instilled in them a deep love of physical activity and sport in literally HUNDREDS of children over the 12 years you have been coaching in Newport National School.

You were part of the fabric of this school and you leave a huge imprint here. The legacy of your work will remain with us long into the future.

You had a skill for enticing, coaxing and encouraging children in a very positive way. The children idolise you, and you are a great role model for them to have.

You know you will be sorely missed, but as you embark on another journey in life, we wish you every good blessing with all your future endeavours.
