Golf Schools Competition

On Friday the 19th May, Newport NS was represented in the Mulranny Golf Club Schools Tournament held amongst 7 local schools.

There were three stages in the competition with one boy and one girl taking part in each stage. Ava Sheridan and Kai Stokes were driving, Ava Kelly and Jamie Sheridan were putting and Koby Stokes and Sína Rothwell were chipping. Two girls and two boys in each team took part in a scramble also. Conor Dunleavy was our sub.

Ava S got the longest girls’ drive, Kai got 2nd in the driving contest and Koby came second in the chipping. Ava K came second in the putting. Overall, Newport came second, losing by

just one point. We had a great evening!
