Science Week - Sixth Class

Sixth class in Newport NS were represented by two teams who travelled to Westport Woods Hotel on Wednesday of Science Week 2017.

The event was hosted by Mayo Science and Technology Festival personnel and the challenge was to design and build a raft using only 50 craft sticks and 20 size 38 elastic bands. The raft was then floated and the teams placed marbles on the raft. The raft that held the most marbles before capsizing was the winner.

Unfortunately, our teams didn't win, but we are very proud of Rachel, Neil and Rowan and of Matthew, Conor, Ava K and Alana who conducted themselves superbly as they always do.
