Erasmus+ is the EU's programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe.

The objective of Erasmus+ is to promote transnational learning mobility and cooperation, as a mean of improving quality and excellence, supporting inclusion and equity, and boosting innovation in the fields of education, youth and sport. In all these sectors, the aim is to provide support, through lifelong learning, for the educational, professional and personal development of participants in Europe and beyond.

Newport NS was granted Erasmus+ funding in 2025.This has facilitated staff members to travel to Spain, Hungary, Slovenia and Portugal to take part in educational courses and visit local schools for job shadowing.

We are delighted that our recent funding application for 2026-2027 was approved under the ‘Accredited Projects for mobility of learners and staff in school education’.

Hopefully, if the budget allows, this will enable 10 staff members to attend courses and a further 6 staff members to take part in Job Shadowing mobility.

We also hope to organise a group mobility of school pupils (6 pupils & 2 staff) in the future. We hope to have 2 invited experts visit our school.
