Science Fair with Declan Holmes

Fifth and sixth classes spent Thursday 24th of May being demonstrating scientists!

Declan Holmes of Science Ireland spent the full day in our school.

In the morning, he demonstrated eleven science experiments for fifth and sixth classes who had to pay very close attention!

Later, the two senior classes set up their eleven stations in the school hall and were then visited by every other class in turn. The senior students (in small groups) demonstrated the science experiments on a rotation system while Declan visited each classroom himself to prepare the other students for the fair.

All children benefitted hugely from this day. We always look forward to Declan visiting our school. Thank you to him for making science accessible and fun.
