6th Class trip with Terra Firma

Sixth Class greatly enjoyed the "Ireland Through the Ages" guided tour with Ged Dowling of Terra Firma.

The spring sun shone upon us as we visited the Megalithic complex at Kildangan, Murrisk Abbey and the National Famine Memorial.

The children learned about how their ancestors lived, stood in an ancient ringfort, heard about the arrival of St. Patrick and the formation of the friary on the shores of Clew Bay and considered the tragedy of the Great Hunger.

The tour was informative, intriguing and fun and was the perfect way to take the classroom outdoors.
