5th Class visit Brackloon
The weather gods shone down on 5th class yesterday in Brackloon Woods!

Silver Circle
Parents As many of you will recall, we never finished the 2020 Silver Circle due to the school closure in March. Lots of people had paid money to enter into 5 weeks of draws, and we only got to complete 2 weeks of these, so we will do the final 3 weeks of draws between now and Christmas. (This is for people who have already paid money in - we are not asking anyone to collect more money) The draws will take place as follows: Friday 4 December Friday 11 December Friday 18 Decem

If you go down to the woods today...
What a day 2nd class had in Brackloon Woods! Under the expert guidance of Ged from Terra Firma they discovered so many things and learned so much. More details to follow, but in the meantime, enjoy the photos...

Tired but happy!
As you can see, the Junior Infants are pretty tired after their excursion today. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Science in Senior Infants
We got busy in Senior Infants and explored what happens if you drop raisins into normal water versus sparkling water - the result- the raisins sink to the bottom in normal water but dance to the top in the sparkling water. This is because the bubbles gather around the raisins, making them lighter and therefore cause them to float! We also explored what happens when you drop a peeled orange vs an unpeeled orange into a container of water and we had lots of fun making rainbows

Thank You EyeWorld!
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to parent Clodagh McGovern or EyeWorld who very thoughtfully donated anti-fog wipes to the school for all the children (and staff!) who wear reading glasses and are struggling with masks. The children in 3rd class have now carried out a scientific experiment to test how well they work and have given them the thumbs up!

If your child is a close contact...
Listen to expert advice from Dr Abigail Collins on what to do if your child has been in close contact with someone else who has COVID-19 in school or childcare.
A message from Principal Brid Chambers

Teachers are happy for you to send in the wellies in a bag which can be left hanging on the child's coat hook in anticipation of the days which might be rainy. We had originally decided to send out a written report instead of the usual parent teacher meeting. However teachers feel that a two way communicat
